My first ever personal blog!

Hi everyone. It was my far more technological daughter who has been inspiring (or bugging me!) to start a blog. As a professional coach, she felt this would be a wonderful way to reach people interested in learning, growing, dealing with the present times and feeling more empowered would want to read. I'm hoping you agree!

A little about me, and you can read much more on my website, LynneGoldberg.com or TheBrooklynCoach.com. I have had the great fortune to re-create myself and my career, primarily because I followed in instincts, intuition and passion, and after consideration and mindfulness, went with it. What followed, for those who know me is quite remarkable in that I did a career change after raising two daughters. After a short time, I went from essentially being a life/personal coach with not a smidgen of large corporate experience to becoming an executive/career coach and being hired into a Fortune 100 Professional Services Big Four company. With the downsizing in my former firm, my department was disbanded and many of us were laid off, myself included. My point in telling you this is that, after the natural "freaking out" stage, I used the tools I gained from my life experience, professional coach training and work with thousands of clients to put the pedal to the metal myself. Losing a job that you enjoy that provides the financial rewards as well suddenly is, to put it mildly, extremely challenging. That said, it is what it is! I didn't have a choice in their decision. I did, and will however, have a choice in my response and thinking. I recognized then that I could either choose to dwell in the negative, upsetting, fearful story I was creating in my head, or use it as the opportunity it also was and still is. So, I'll leave with the question....what to do when life giving you lemons??? How can we make the lemonade, since sucking on the lemons only creates a sourpuss (not to mention wrinkles). These are challenging times indeed, and also times when we have never need hope, faith and believing more. Choose! Which energy do you want to partake in? fear or faith? The time ain't for sissies, that's for sure! Choose fear-less-ness, as often as you can and reach out.
